An Intro To Bordeaux For HarlemEatUp

This May, Bordeaux Wines will be the exclusive wine sponsor for the inaugural food and culture event, HarlemEatUp. The four day festival, founded by celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson and events producer, Herb Karlitz with support from longtime Harlem Ambassadors like President Bill Clinton, will celebrate the past, present and future of Harlem”s burgeoning culinary and cultural renaissance. Given the history, heritage, innovation and accessibility that has come to define the wines of our region, Bordeaux is an unexpected yet natural fit for the festival. For the HarlemEatUp”s Dine-In Series, attendees will experience a multi-course menu from the area”s most celebrated Chefs and restaurants. Each course will be paired with a wine from Bordeaux, showcasing the versatility of our wines alongside the diverse cuisines on offer. Participating Chefs and restaurants include 2015 James Beard Award nominated Chef Joseph “JJ” Johnson at The Cecil with Guest Chef Jonathan Waxman of Barbuto, Chef Adrienne Cheatham at Streetbird with Top Chef & Food & Wine”s Best New Chef 2014 Chef Paul Qui of Qui Austin, and Chef Jon Stage of Dinosaur Bar-B-Que with Guest Chef Ludo Lefebvre. Cuisines will range from ramen to rotisserie chicken, soul food to classic Italian cuisine. For those unfamiliar with or just getting to know our wines, we created an easy to read infographic to impress the diners at your table. As a region that has been producing wines for over 2000 years, we know a thing or two about winemaking. Today, with over 6,800 winemakers from around the world producing affordable wines from white to sweet to rosé to red, there are truly so many styles to discover.  Whether you”re attending the event or simply celebrating at home, get to know Bordeaux. For tickets to the Dine-In Series and more, please visit harlemeatup.com.
